In France, you can find pretty much any American-styled ice cream flavors nowadays, with the arrival of chains including but not limited to Haagen Dazs. However, there's a flavor commonly found in France that I used to love, and which isn't generally found on this side of the Atlantic (I live in the US): "noisette". I believe the translation for that is "hazelnut" if memory serves me right, but it doesn't taste anything like what passes for hazelnut here.

A quick note regarding servings: they don't tend to be nearly as copious in France. In other words, if you're accustomed to large portions of ice cream, you'll want to get a triple scoop cone just to have something almost approaching a US-styled single scoop cone. But definitely try "une glace à la noisette" - delicious.
